Festival Trail Pop-Up Performance
Off-Grid Golden-Hour Music and Dance Performances

The Festival Trail asked NAMWA to design programming for a public activation of its shade structure in the parking lot of the Southern California Institute of Architecture. Timed for sunset, the project brought together off-grid lighting, music, dance, and cultural performance to turn an unexpected urban site into a gathering place.
NAMWA created an off-grid performance focal point powered by solar energy collected during the day. Alongside colorful artwork, the program featured Grammy winner Daniel Ho, hula dancers from Halau Hula Kealii O Nalani, Taiko Center of LA from Little Tokyo, and the Urban Voices Project from Skid Row—demonstrating how shade structures can spotlight local community artists.
